Umbra

Umbra is done!

In this painting I placed an under layer of India Ink writing* in a vertical direction, contrasted with the horizontal layering of color. Color is dominant, but the writing is perceived throughout.

*The writing does not form words or meaning. Rather it is what we do as children before we learn to write and try to imitate what we think is writing...scribbling?
